Owen Horsford started dancing with Footsteps Academy of Dance when he was five years old. He struggled with co-ordination, concentration and had no natural rhythm.

However he didn’t let any of this stop him and soon found a love for dance, specifically ballet. He increased his classes with Footseps and decided that this is what he wanted to do.

Through sheer determination and hard work he progressed to a great standard and his first big achievement was gaining a place with the National Youth Ballet when he was 13. Over the years he completed many seasons with them and was accepted into the associate programme at Central School of Ballet in London. Once he was 16 he knew exactly what he wanted to do and he worked hard to be accepted as a full time student at Central.

Owen is now in his third and final year and is  performing with their Ballet Central tour this year.

Owen has already secured himself a job for after he graduates with a prestigious ballet company. Footsteps owner Emma Armour is extremely proud of him and said he was always a hard working student, determined, and a joy to teach.

FOOTSTEPS THE FUTURE

New Studio
New Classes
Same Footsteps Family

I am thrilled to share with you some huge news about the next step in the Footsteps Adventure.

Footsteps is growing, Footsteps now has its own studio!

The Footsteps Studio is in central Tunbridge Wells, on Goods Station Road (near the RVP car park entrance).

We have redecorated, put in mirrors, barres, lights, and most importantly a sprung floor!

This studio space means that we are now going to be able to offer many more classes, groups, workshops etc

This will not affect our current classes, we will continue to teach in our much-loved venues at St Lukes And Speldhurst Village Hall.

We are incredibly excited about the studio because it will allow us to offer a whole range of new classes including:

  • Adult Dance Classes, including Silver Swans

  • Irish Dance Classes

  • Musical Theatre Classes

  • Mummy & Me Ballet Classes

  • Pre School Acro

  • Workshops

And much, much more to come.

To go with the new studio, we have a new logo and new branding. We are now Footsteps Dance Fitness Wellbeing.

As this name suggests we will also be offering Fitness & Wellbeing classes at the studio including yoga, pilates and more. This is incredibly important to us that we can support people with wellbeing and positive movement following the strain of the past year. Everyone will be welcome whatever their age, fitness and situation.

Because the key thing that will never change is the Footsteps Ethos. Everything we do is about being inclusive to all, spreading the love of dance and movement, and welcoming you to the Footsteps Family.

So what now?

You can follow us on our new Facebook Page & Instagram Account (we will also keep running our current pages for the time being, which will focus just on the dance)

Sign up to our new mailing list, to be first to know about new classes
